Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated PreSales Engineer Intern to join the Thales Cybersecurity Products division. This internship is ideal for students who want to bridge technical knowledge with customer-facing engagement and gain exposure to enterprise cybersecurity sales engineering.
You will work directly with the AVP of Sales Engineering, APJ, gaining mentorship and hands-on experience configuring demonstration environments, supporting Proof of Concepts (POCs), and engaging with customers across the Asia-Pacific region.
Responsibilities
Technical Support & Configuration
- Assist with setting up, configuring, and maintaining demo environments for Thales cybersecurity solutions (e.g., Data Protection, Access Management, HSMs).
- Support Proof of Concepts (POCs) for enterprise and government customers.
Content Development
- Prepare and standardize technical assets such as solution briefs, product decks, competitive comparison documents, and training materials.
- Update internal reference materials for the regional sales engineering team.
Documentation & Bid Support
- Contribute to technical responses for RFPs and RFIs, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Support the articulation of product capabilities and integration requirements.
Product & Industry Expertise
- Conduct research on cybersecurity trends, threats, and competitor offerings.
- Support positioning of Thales products through technical insights and market understanding.
Customer Engagement
- Join customer meetings and product demonstrations with senior PreSales Engineers.
- Observe and eventually assist in presenting technical value propositions.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, Cybersecurity, or related fields.
- Foundational knowledge of:
- Networking concepts
- Operating systems (Windows/Linux)
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Cybersecurity fundamentals (encryption, access control, key management)
- Strong interest in technical sales engineering and cybersecurity.
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-moving, regional team.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
