Role Overview
As a CAD Software Engineer Intern, you will contribute to improving CAD flow and methodology, developing automation tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that MediaTek’s products achieve best-in-class Power, Performance & Area (PPA) and fast time-to-market.
This role is ideal for students in Microelectronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields with a passion for coding and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in various stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, and deployment.
- Develop, improve, and maintain CAD flow and methodology to ensure correct electrical and logical functionality, as well as manufacturability.
- Work closely with internal teams to develop solutions using Open Source Software technology.
- Contribute to physical verification methodology efforts in collaboration with multifunctional teams.
- Enhance automation to improve efficiency and reliability of CAD flow processes.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Microelectronic Engineering, or related fields.
- Knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, Perl, Tcl, or JavaScript) with willingness to expand skills.
- Passion for coding, problem-solving, and learning.
- Strong logical thinking, creativity, and initiative in finding solutions.
- Enjoy collaborating with others in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic IC design knowledge is a plus but not mandatory.
