Overview
This Actuarial Business Management Internship at Manulife/John Hancock provides hands-on experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and analytics. Interns will contribute to monthly Net Book Value (NBV) reporting and support management decisions by providing insights into financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing NBV materials for monthly management meetings
- Support timely submission of monthly and quarterly reports for senior leadership review, including CFO, Heads of Distribution, and Chief Product Officer
- Participate in forecasting discussions within Finance and Actuarial teams
- Contribute to process improvements in reporting and template enhancements
- Engage in team meetings to prioritize tasks, share knowledge, and collaborate on projects
- Provide support to other teams within Actuarial Business Management as needed
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or VBA is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
