Overview
Riot Singapore is home to the teams building global titles like League of Legends, Valorant, Teamfight Tactics, and 2XKO. Our local Efficiency team explores how Generative AI can reshape the way artists and designers create game content. As a Generative AI Research Intern, you’ll work alongside experienced researchers to experiment with emerging machine-learning methods and develop tools that support creative production across Riot’s games.
What You’ll Do
- Prototype and test new generative-model approaches—such as diffusion models, GANs, and VAEs—to solve real creative-pipeline challenges.
- Turn research ideas into working demos that teammates can evaluate and build upon.
- Work closely with engineers, artists, and designers to ensure your experiments fit practical workflows and technical constraints.
- Document findings clearly through internal writeups and presentations so others can learn from your work.
What You’ll Need
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD related to AI, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or similar fields.
- Strong understanding of machine-learning theory and generative-model concepts.
- Practical experience using PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with modern generative architectures (e.g., diffusion models, GANs, transformer-based systems).
- Clear communication skills and a willingness to collaborate across disciplines.
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Work or research involving multimodal models, controllable generation, or diffusion-based pipelines.
- Interest in games or creative-tool development.
- Publications or ongoing work in recognized AI/ML/CV/CG conferences.
Additional Notes
Applicants must already be legally able to work in Singapore, as Riot cannot provide relocation or visa sponsorship for this internship.
How to Apply
Send in your resume and a short, engaging cover letter. Riot receives many applications, so a thoughtful introduction that reflects your curiosity, research passion, and love for play will help you stand out.
