Join the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s Strategic Research (SR) team and gain firsthand experience exploring the ideas shaping Singapore’s future. As an intern, you’ll work alongside planners to investigate emerging trends, new technologies, and evolving social needs—and understand how they influence urban planning, policy development, and long-term land use strategies. This role offers a meaningful opportunity for students passionate about cities, people, and the future of urban living.
Responsibilities
- Support SR planners in developing new research directions through background studies, literature reviews, and on-site fieldwork
- Examine global planning policies and distill insights that could be adapted to Singapore’s context
- Assist in planning, organising, and facilitating stakeholder engagement sessions, then analyse findings to support planning recommendations
- Contribute to synthesising research outcomes into clear insights for policy teams
- Scan for innovative ideas and concepts that can inform exhibition content or forward-looking planning discussions
- Identify relevant stakeholders and potential collaborators for ongoing research projects
Requirements
- Full-time internship from May to August 2026 preferred
- Currently pursuing a degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Real Estate, Geography, Sociology, or other related social science fields
- Strong interest in urban issues such as liveability, mobility, health and well-being, and city futures
- Good analytical, research and communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly
- Curious, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and in team settings
