Overview
BeeX is a deep-tech startup pushing the boundaries of underwater robotics. We design and operate cutting-edge Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (HAUVs) used to protect critical subsea infrastructure across the maritime, energy and defence sectors. As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you’ll join a fast-moving team building real hardware, contributing to systems that operate in some of the world’s harshest waters. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a company pioneering autonomous robotics-as-a-service globally.
What You Will Be Doing
- Support electrical design and development for BeeX’s HAUVs, including PCB design, wiring harnesses, and power systems.
- Assist with system assembly, prototyping and component testing across sensors, circuit boards and embedded systems.
- Participate in sea trials and customer-facing product demonstrations to validate system performance.
- Contribute to firmware development, troubleshooting and electrical integration tasks.
- Maintain clear documentation of tests, performance insights and learning logs to support continuous improvement.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams—from mechanical to software—to solve real engineering challenges.
What You Will Learn
- End-to-end exposure to building deep-tech hardware in a startup environment.
- Practical experience in subsea robotics, electrical integration and embedded systems.
- Firsthand experience in prototype iteration, testing workflows and field deployment.
- Insight into how a high-growth Singapore startup scales its technology globally.
Requirements
- Passion for designing and improving hardware products.
- Strong learning attitude and ability to adapt quickly.
- Comfortable working both independently and in interdisciplinary teams.
- Bonus: Experience with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium), battery-powered systems, microcontrollers, C++ or Python, and sensor/actuator interfacing.
