Overview
URA’s Design & Planning Lab (DPLab) is seeking a Data Engineering Intern to support the Planning Sectoral Data Hub (PSDH). This internship provides hands-on experience enhancing a large-scale government data platform, improving data pipelines, implementing automated testing, and strengthening monitoring and governance practices. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the platform’s reliability, accuracy, and compliance, supporting strategic urban planning decisions in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities
- Enhance data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and integration processes
- Implement automation and regression testing to reduce manual effort and increase system resilience
- Support platform monitoring, reporting, and dashboard improvements to provide actionable insights
- Assist in governance activities, including reviewing access controls and ensuring compliance with data policies
- Maintain documentation and manage a product backlog of platform enhancements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, and Git
- Knowledge of Azure Cloud services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks) is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Availability for full-time internship: Jan – May 2026 (6 months) or May – Aug 2026 (3 months)
