About LEGO Creative Play Lab (CPL)
CPL is at the heart of LEGO’s new product innovations, exploring emerging technologies, experimenting with tools, collaborating with new brands, and integrating inventive ideas into LEGO’s play system. Interns in the Play Discovery department work on early-stage ideation, concept development, and prototyping, helping create the toys of tomorrow.
Who We’re Looking For
- Students currently enrolled in art, design, engineering, or related disciplines
- Available for the full internship period (Jan–June 2026)
- Conversational English proficiency
Skills & Experience (preferred):
- Sketching, sculpture, LEGO model building
- Graphic design (Photoshop, Illustrator)
- 3D CAD software (Rhino, Maya, Blender, Zbrush)
- Prototyping, 3D printing, electronics
- Videography / editing
Personal Attributes:
- Curiosity: Always asking “what if” and exploring new ideas
- Bravery: Comfortable navigating ambiguity, giving feedback, and voicing opinions
- Focus: Able to shift priorities quickly and manage multiple tasks
Responsibilities
- Develop new play concepts, characters, and prototypes
- Research innovative technologies, materials, and toys
- Communicate ideas through sketches, digital mockups, models, and 3D prints
- Build and iterate physical and digital prototypes
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, artists, and researchers on cross-functional innovation projects
