Overview
HSBC Singapore is offering a 25–35 week Off-Cycle Actuarial Work Placement starting May 2026. As a student intern, you’ll join the Actuarial team to support real projects in insurance pricing, valuations, modelling, and reporting. You’ll gain exposure to a range of actuarial functions while learning how global financial institutions assess and manage uncertain future events.

Key Responsibilities
- Support actuarial projects by preparing data, performing analyses, and assisting with modelling.
- Help calculate insurance pricing and valuations for different products.
- Contribute to local and international valuation reporting, including IFRS17 compliance.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and supporting documentation for senior team members.
- Collaborate with colleagues across teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of tasks.
- Assist in testing and validating actuarial methodologies and assumptions.
Requirements
- Currently in Year 2, 3, or 4 of undergraduate studies.
- Specialising in Actuarial Science, Risk, Statistics, or a related field.
- Available full-time or on a work-study basis for 25–35 weeks starting May 2026.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Fluent in English with good communication skills.
- Eligible to work in Singapore.
