Overview
Join the innovative Multi Disc Writer (MDW) team at the heart of hard drive media manufacturing. In this internship, you will collaborate directly with Product and Process Engineers to enhance software, data analysis, and process optimization. You’ll play a key role in advancing our media manufacturing technology, directly impacting product quality and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
· Assist in developing and refining manufacturing processes for new media designs on advanced writing platforms.
· Use programming tools (Python, MATLAB, SQL) to analyze production data, identify trends, and support process optimization.
· Participate in engineering investigations and failure analysis to troubleshoot issues and improve product yield.
· Support projects aimed at enhancing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and reducing manufacturing cycle times.
· Help create data visualizations and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to the engineering team.
· Contribute to the documentation of processes, experiments, and analysis methodologies.
· Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
· Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
· Demonstrable programming experience in Python, MATLAB, SQL, or similar languages for data analysis.
· A strong analytical mindset with a solid understanding of data science principles and statistical methods.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in ambiguous, technical challenges.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation habits.
· A proactive learner and a collaborative team player with good communication skills.
· Able to commit to a full-time internship from January to May or July.
