Overview
Join URA’s Design & Planning Lab (DPLab), the technology and analytics arm powering Singapore’s next generation of urban planning tools. As part of the Urban Analytics team, you’ll help strengthen accessibility planning by combining data science, geospatial analysis and real-world urban design insights. This internship offers a front-row seat to how data guides national planning decisions and shapes the city’s development.
What You’ll Do
- Support exploratory analyses on accessibility to Social Communal Facilities (SCF) and other essential amenities to uncover gaps, patterns and planning opportunities.
- Work with planners and partner agencies to interpret findings in ways that meaningfully guide amenity provision and policy decisions.
- Develop clear visualisations and presentations that turn technical data into practical insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to the deployment and maintenance of batch-processing pipelines and scheduled reporting systems used by URA teams.
- Build automation scripts and geoprocessing tools—such as ArcPy workflows on ArcGIS Pro—to streamline repetitive analytical tasks for planners.
Who We’re Looking For
- Available for a full-time internship from Jan–May 2026 (6 months).
- Currently pursuing studies in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, GIS or related fields.
- Comfortable working with Python and basic statistical concepts.
- Familiar with ArcGIS Pro and/or SQL (preferred but not required).
- Curious about geospatial analytics and how data science supports urban planning.
- Able to communicate clearly, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and enjoy solving analytical problems.
