Overview
KPMG’s Cyber Defence team is offering an internship for students who want hands-on experience in ethical hacking, security testing, and real-world threat simulation. As part of a fast-growing cybersecurity function, you’ll help assess how well organisations can defend against modern digital risks while learning from specialists who work across industries.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration tests on web, mobile, wireless, cloud, and network environments
- Support red and purple team exercises by simulating realistic attack scenarios
- Analyse test results and prepare clear, actionable technical reports
- Present findings to internal teams and client stakeholders
- Research emerging threats, tools, and exploit techniques to support ongoing improvement
- Assist in evaluating security controls and recommending improvements to client environments
- Work with senior testers to validate identified weaknesses and propose remediation steps
Requirements
- Studying Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or any IT-related field
- Comfortable with Windows, Linux, or macOS environments
- Basic knowledge of scripting (Python, Bash, JavaScript, or PowerShell)
- Familiarity with common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and basic security concepts
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus
- Interest in tools like Nmap, Burp Suite, Wireshark, Metasploit, or Kali Linux
- Strong interest in ethical hacking and willingness to continuously learn
- Certifications (OSCP, CRT, CPTS, etc.) are a bonus but not required
