Overview
The Design & Planning Lab (DPLab) at the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) is offering an internship for students interested in leveraging data and technology to support urban planning. As an intern, you’ll work alongside planners, architects, and policy makers to develop tools and workflows that enhance decision-making and tackle Singapore’s urban planning challenges. This role blends software development, geospatial analytics, and urban science, providing hands-on experience in a real-world planning environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Create ArcPy scripts and geoprocessing workflows to automate data updates.
- Schedule and manage ArcGIS notebooks and other geospatial tasks.
- Support the implementation and launch of new data products and associated workflows.
- Consult with planners to design and enhance user experiences for tools and applications.
- Develop and customize workflows on Esri Workflow Manager and UI using Experience Builder.
- Present solutions and insights to stakeholders to gain buy-in.
- Actively participate in scrum meetings and team discussions.
Requirements
- Students pursuing Computer Science, Information Technology, Urban Science, GIS, Geography, or related fields.
- Strong programming skills in Python, ArcPy, Pandas, Geopandas, or similar ETL libraries.
- Experience with ArcGIS geoprocessing functions such as Intersect, Union, and Spatial Join.
- Ability to commit to a full-time internship of 5–6 months between January and August 2025.
