Overview
The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) is offering an internship within its Design & Planning Lab (DPLab), focused on advancing Singapore’s Urban Planning & Design Technology Centre of Excellence (URBEX). Interns will work with a multi-disciplinary team on data management, geospatial analytics, and data engineering projects to support urban planning and policy decisions.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist Data Managers and Engineers in documenting and implementing data management policies.
- Develop processes for efficient data collection, transformation, and storage.
- Collaborate with other agencies to align data attributes and schema for planning purposes.
- Maintain and rectify datasets while ensuring proper access and compliance.
- Build dashboards and perform geospatial analytics using sample datasets.
- Support the design and operation of data pipelines leveraging SQL, Python, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, Architecture, Smart Cities, or related fields.
- Foundational knowledge of data governance, management, and analytics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, and Git.
- Comfortable handling and analyzing datasets.
Good to Have
- Experience with Azure Cloud services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks) and Jenkins.
- Prior involvement in data-related projects with data managers or engineers.
