Overview

This Data Engineering Internship at Thales AIR Lab in Singapore offers hands-on experience in aviation innovation and research. You will work with a team of engineers and data scientists to manage, analyse, and transform large aviation datasets, while exploring potential applications of AI, machine learning (ML), and natural language processing (NLP) to improve aviation safety, efficiency, and insights. This role provides exposure to the full data lifecycle, from ETL processes to reporting and predictive modelling.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate on AI/ML and NLP projects for predictive modelling and anomaly detection
Document workflows, methodologies, and insights for stakeholders
Prepare presentations and reports summarising analysis results
Participate in team discussions, provide feedback, and implement process improvements
Continuously update technical knowledge through training and workshops

Requirements

Enrolled in or recently completed a Master’s program in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related fields
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Proficient in Python, R, SQL, or Java; experience with data libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) preferred
Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, ETL, and data transformation processes
Familiarity with big data frameworks and data visualisation tools is a plus
Interest in aviation or previous aviation-related projects beneficial
Team-oriented, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
