As a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Intern at Cummins, you will gain hands-on experience in real-world HSE processes, working directly with our team to improve workplace safety, environmental practices, and operational efficiency. You will be entrusted with identifying opportunities for improvement, analyzing current metrics, and contributing to projects that make a tangible difference in our site's HSE performance.
What You'll Get Out of This Internship
· Gain practical, hands-on experience in HSE management within a global industrial and technology company.
· Develop skills in process improvement, risk assessment, and data analysis related to workplace safety and environmental sustainability.
· Contribute to real business projects, such as improving contractor management, ergonomics, and the site's 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) program.
· Learn to deliver HSE training and support the execution of key regulatory programs.

Key Responsibilities
· Collaborate with operations teams to identify and develop improvement plans for HSE processes (e.g., Powered Industrial Vehicles, ergonomics, contractor management).
· Support the environmental committee on projects to improve waste disposal methods and enhance the site's 3Rs initiatives.
· Review current HSE metrics compilation processes and identify areas for improvement and efficiency.
· Assist in reviewing HSE training needs and help prepare training materials; become competent to support training delivery.
· Support the Site HSE Manager in executing regulatory programs, including inspections and committee meetings.
Requirements
· Currently pursuing a Diploma or Nitec in Environmental Studies, Engineering, Health & Safety, or a related field.
· Basic competency in Microsoft Office and data analysis.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent transversal collaboration and communication skills.
· Knowledge of warehousing operations or risk assessment methodology is an advantage.
· A proactive, accountable mindset with a genuine interest in health, safety, and environmental sustainability.
