Overview
Google’s User Experience (UX) team is built on a simple guiding principle: “Focus on the user and all else will follow.” As part of this interdisciplinary team—spanning interaction design, visual design, motion, research, UX engineering, and program management—you will help uncover user insights and transform them into intuitive, accessible experiences for millions of people across the region.
This internship sits within the Google Payments team, which builds consumer and business payment experiences such as Autofill, Tap-to-Pay, and Google Pay. You’ll help create seamless, secure, and delightful financial journeys for users everywhere.
This internship runs May/June 2026 to July/August 2026 (10–12 weeks), and applicants must be located in Singapore throughout the program.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with UX designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers to define problems and build thoughtful solutions.
- Conduct user research, interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
- Produce UX deliverables such as decks, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and illustrations.
- Contribute to designing user interfaces and end-to-end experiences.
- Apply UX principles including accessibility, usability heuristics, typography, grids, layout, color theory, and composition.
- Gain deep exposure to the UX role within Google’s product development lifecycle.
What You Bring (Minimum Qualifications)
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Design, HCI, Product/Visual/Interaction Design, Interactive Media, or a related field.
- Experience with design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe suite).
- Experience conducting user interviews or surveys.
- Demonstrated understanding of user-centered design principles.
- A strong design portfolio showcasing relevant work and thought process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Returning to a full-time degree program after the internship.
- Experience in interaction design, graphics, or motion fundamentals.
- Strong analytical, visual, and creative thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
