Based in Woodlands, our IT MES (Manufacturing Execution System) team supports and improves operational efficiency across Seagate’s Global MES Tracking System, deployed in Singapore, Malaysia, US, Thailand, and China. Our key focus is to re-architect an existing Machine Learning model, align it with the latest technology stack, and integrate it with factory systems. Working closely with IT teams, mentors, and stakeholders, we deliver solutions that enhance business operations and drive innovation.
Role Overview
As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in system re-architecture, development, and integration while contributing to meaningful projects that support Seagate’s Smart Factory initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Re-architect existing systems to improve scalability, efficiency, and functionality.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Design and develop new features aligned with technical specifications.
- Integrate and manage database solutions, preferably Oracle, for seamless data handling.
- Test, troubleshoot, and optimize systems for reliability and performance.
- Manage project tasks, coordinate with mentors and stakeholders, and meet timelines.
Requirements & Experience
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python; Machine Learning & Data Science experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of database systems (Oracle preferred) and Big Data/Hadoop environments.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies (SAFe a plus).
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail.
- Highly independent, adaptable, proactive, and a strong team collaborator.
