Overview
This internship is with Seagate’s Global Factory IT Group, a team that builds the digital backbone behind modern, high-tech manufacturing. You’ll support real production systems used across Seagate’s global factories while learning how enterprise software enables smart, connected operations. The role blends backend development, system integration, and cloud exposure in a collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and extension of MES services and internal APIs
- Build and test producer and consumer applications using Kafka messaging
- Contribute to Java-based services, including enhancements and system migrations
- Assist in transitioning applications from legacy formats to modern interfaces
- Help migrate selected services to AWS cloud environments
- Participate in regression testing, QA activities, and technical documentation
- Share progress updates and ideas during regular project review meetings
Requirements
- Background in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- Comfortable coding in Java, JavaScript, or Python
- Familiar with basic API and microservices concepts
- Some experience using development tools like VS Code or IntelliJ
- Basic understanding of Windows and Linux environments
- Curious, proactive, and able to communicate clearly with teammates
