Overview
Join the Design & Planning Lab (DPLab) at the Urban Redevelopment Authority, where technology and planning meet. As part of the Town Demography team, you will support data scientists in transforming demographic and housing data into meaningful visual tools that guide Singapore’s long-term urban development.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyse demographic and housing datasets to uncover patterns in population change
- Create interactive visual tools that help planners explore trends intuitively
- Work with planning teams to translate findings into meaningful planning insights
- Prepare charts, maps, and visual narratives to support presentations and reports
- Test and refine prototype dashboards to improve clarity and usability
- Assist in preparing documentation to support data interpretation and team knowledge-sharing
- Contribute ideas to enhance analytical methods or visual design approaches
Requirements
- Able to commit 3–6 months between Jan and Aug 2025 (full-time preferred)
- Currently studying Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Smart Cities, or related fields
- Comfortable using Python or R for data analysis
- Basic understanding of statistics
- Curious about how data science informs urban planning
- Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn
