Overview
Join Infineon’s Power Systems team as an intern and gain hands-on experience with real test chips, power boards, and simulation tools used in modern power electronics. You’ll support engineers in evaluating switched-mode power supplies (SMPS), conducting system tests, analysing data, and helping refine next-generation power solutions.
What You'll Get Out of This Internship
- Practical exposure to SMPS operation, flyback topology, and auxiliary power supply design
- Experience using professional lab equipment and simulation environments
- Mentorship from engineers working across different functions and locations
- Skills in troubleshooting, optimisation, and electronics assembly
- A work portfolio demonstrating lab testing, data analysis, and engineering documentation
Key Responsibilities
- Set up simulation environments to model system behaviour and assess test-chip performance
- Conduct hands-on testing on SMPS boards using oscilloscopes, power analysers, and other standard lab tools
- Analyse measured and simulated data to identify performance gaps and recommend adjustments
- Read and interpret schematic diagrams to support assembly and debugging
- Replace components, adjust circuitry, and perform soldering work to support optimisation experiments
- Record test results clearly and prepare short reports to support engineering decisions
- Support the team in troubleshooting power boards and validating improvements
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering fields
- Comfortable with soldering, lab measurements, and basic troubleshooting
- Able to read schematics and follow engineering instructions
- Familiar with tools such as LabVIEW, Altium, and Microsoft Office
- Curious, hands-on, and eager to learn modern power electronics
- Able to work well within a cross-functional and cross-location team
Who This Internship Is Ideal For
