Your Responsibilities
- Participate in challenging development projects alongside senior engineers.
- Improve the scalability, performance, and efficiency of Virtu’s proprietary trading systems.
- Contribute to the design and architecture of systems that handle massive data flows in real-time.
- Work on both front-end and back-end projects, and across multiple programming languages as needed.
- Collaborate with a team of talented software engineers to optimize trading algorithms and tools.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Rising juniors, or students ready for full-time employment between December 2026 – June 2027.
- Strong academic background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Proficiency in Python, and either Java or C++.
- Experience with JavaScript is a plus.
- Exposure to lower-level programming is a bonus, but not required.
- Outstanding quantitative problem-solving skills and strong mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to handle a variety of projects and learn multiple technologies quickly.
- Highly motivated, tenacious, and able to take initiative both independently and in a team environment.
