Full Job Description – Investment Research Intern
Overview
We are looking for a motivated and analytical individual to join our investment team. This role provides hands-on exposure to global markets, investment research, and portfolio analysis. You will support the team in conducting macroeconomic studies, evaluating investment opportunities, and preparing materials for both internal stakeholders and external clients.
Key Responsibilities
Investment & Market Research
- Conduct global macroeconomic research to support investment outlooks and strategy discussions.
- Analyse market trends, economic indicators, and geopolitical developments that may affect portfolios.
Fundamental & Credit Analysis
- Perform bottom-up research on companies, sectors, or instruments to assess investment viability.
- Review financial statements, evaluate business models, and identify key risks and return drivers.
- Assist in credit assessments for fixed-income opportunities.
Reporting & Presentation Support
- Prepare concise investment reports, presentations, and updates for internal meetings.
- Develop materials for client communications, including performance summaries, thematic insights, and ad-hoc research documents.
- Maintain data accuracy, track research findings, and support documentation for investment committee discussions.
Ad-Hoc Support
- Assist with special research projects, data compilation, or analysis tasks as required by portfolio managers or analysts.
Experience & Requirements
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
- Basic understanding of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
- Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and proactive in handling research tasks.
Preferred Attributes
- Interest in financial markets, economics, investing, or portfolio management.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, or data tools is a bonus (not required).
